Grease extraction efficiency

The purpose of a mechanical grease filter is to remove large grease particles from the exhaust stream and to provide fire protection by preventing flames from entering the exhaust hood and ductwork.
Cyclonic grease extraction

The convection plume from the cooking operation contains grease that has to be extracted as efficiently as possible. The amount of grease produced by cooking is a function of many variables, among them the type of appliance used, the temperature at which food is being cooked, and the type of food product being cooked. The more grease the filter system can extract, the longer the exhaust duct and fan stay clean, resulting in better fire safety.

  • The Halton KSA multi-cyclone extractor is the most efficient mechanical extractor on the market
  • The individual chambers increase resonance time within the extractor of grease-laden vapours without increasing pressure loss
  • The extractors are cleaned with ease by placing them in a dishwasher or pot sink the non-clogging design maintains efficiency over time

Halton KSA high-efficiency filter and the cyclonic action

  1. Air enters through a slot in the filter face
  2. Air spins through the filter, impinging grease on the filter walls
  3. The cleaner air exits the top and bottom of the filter.
